Black screne, Computer On ???
Not sure whats going on, WinMe, I think its in the sleep mod or something, I will not give me an image after I reboot, I hit the control buttons on the monitor, they work, but still not display.
Possible video card? I was thinking that the computer was in one of those deep sleep mods and I don't know how to get it back. Thanks - Henryh |

Does it happen every time when you reboot or just the last time?
did you change any hardware related to video lately? ive seen a similar probem on a winme pc but this was after a switch from a 19 ich monitor to a smaller one. Could you give a little more specs? what vidcard do you have? what moritor?

grasshopper's questions are good ones -epecially for the video changes - let us know if you've made any.
Also check your cables to and from the video card & monitor - reattach them if you'd like (just to make sure they're OK). If it were a sleep mode problem, pressing the space bar on your keyboard or clicking with your mouse should wake the pc OK. If you can borrow another monitor from someone, or if you have a spare: that's a quick way to rule out the monitor itself. (or you can hook up the monitor to another pc) Am I right in guessing that you see no display whatsoever - no Bios screens (no POST messages: nothing?) - if so, you could reseat the video card, too - just to see if somehow it's loose. . . . Swap out the video card and its working with the old video card.
This was new card that was replaced about six months ago, its a ASylum G4 Ti4600. I might put it back in and try it again. Thanks - Henry |

Remember to switch to the Standard VGA driver before trying it again (it will make life easier for Windows that way).
A card that new that's bad should be under warranty & be replaced free of charge. . . . Gary |
