Windows XP & Floppy Drive

How can I stop Windows XP Pro from trying to access my floppy drive every time I boot up my PC? It’s not only irritating but it can shorted the life of the floppy drive.

Also, if you set the Boot Sequence in the BIOS to HD first, that will stop it looking for a bootable medium on the FDD and CD-Rom Drive on bootup.

If you ever need to boot off your XP CD-Rom, then just go back into the BIOS and change it to CD-Rom Drive first.
