internet connection problem

ok my brother inlaw hs an h.p. (700 mhz,64 ram 20 gig hhd) and last week he started having problems to connect to internet:
when he clic to dial up an error message apear saying error 630
i uninstall and reinstall modem driver and now it is abvle to dial up and connect, (i.e.) but can not find any place comes back telling to check settings checed and all lucks normal and sill do same (will not go to any page)
i downloaded netscape to my computer and putted to cd and installed to his computer , installed all went ok. try to go to a page and it tell me same (can not find)
i tryed conecting to my internet company using my name and i.d. and i can connect but still same thing.
i took computer to my house and did same.

If you have tried all the things you stated more than likely your brother inlaw needs to get a new modem. More times than not when you get error 630 the modem is bad. You could try uninstalling, removing and reinstalling just to be sure.

yes i will try that, also when it is connected it shows two little computers on lower right corner, well only the one on left blinks when i try to go to a somewherse. i will remove and reinstall modem and driver if it still do same i will putt a new modem like you said thanks.

ok i found a modem i changed on my daughters computer 6 monts ago (she had to dial several times to get connected, but when it get connected it worked good) it dial up and get connected good but still same problem, any other sugestions , should i do restore? i have the original restore cd's
what other thing should i try, or do i try a brand new modem?
