XP System Restore irritating me
Can someone tell me why my WinXP System Restore will only allow me to go back 24 hours? I need to go back at least 3 weeks.
TIA |

Tim, I'm not sure exactly how XP determines the "restore points" (other than when you set them manually) but I reset a machine back about 3 months. It must detect when you make certain changes to the system or load new software and then automatically set a restore point.

Hi! TimPoet !
I just don't know if this has anything to do with it. See how much space you give System Restore. I just checked mine and for the heck of it I sled the marker all the way to the right Look, with all the gig we have,I figure I would go for all the space for Restore. In case you don't know the place I put it in. Go to 'System Restore' program.. Look to the left side where it says 'System Restore Settings'--when you click on it will bring up a box with tabs. Look for your drive to chose it. Now, click on that button that says 'Settings' .---you now will see the sliding bar ..--just a thought, will it help? "Who Knows"---------Donald |

Thanks Ron and Donald, appreciate it! Looks like we can't get the system restored to the point we need it but now we can for the future.
