Windows 2000 wont update

Hi guys,
I have this windows 2000 box that has just gotten a fresh install of windows 2000. Actually two fresh installs, and both times, when going to the windows update site, it says that there are no updates for the computer.

I just don't know how that is possible.

Thanx,
Jay

I have sp3 installed on it, that was manually, still didn't work after that.

The computer is behind a router and no firewall, but all the other computers in the house (which are actually xp) get their update lists fine.

My friend, who's computer this actually is, said something about the updater program not being installed right (the certificate you have to agree to when you first visit the update page). But I wasn't sure what to think about that.
