ME won't load in upgrade

I upgraded my mobo to ECS K7S5A Pro with AMD 2000+ cpu. All hardware is connected and boots up fine. I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled ME fresh. When I tried to reboot, I could only go to safe mode. In Normal mode the computer shuts down.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Try entering Bios Setup, and select the FailSafe Defaults. "Save Defaults and Exit".

Remove the case cover, and make sure the cpu and system fans are spinning. Enter Bios Setup, check the temps. Shouldn't be over 50 C idle.

The ECS K7S5A is a "value" line board, and needs a lot of care - especially clean power from an top power supply (Enermax, Enlight, Antec, Sparkle, etc. - - NOT Deer, Foxconn, etc) Power has been an issue with almost every ECS board made: not much of an issue if your power supply is above average.

You can also try flashing the motherboard's bios to a recent version.

There are other things to try as well, but this should get you started.

Best of luck

It could be just a bad install also. Try re-installing it after another partition delete and format.

Definitely remove the partition, create a new one, format and then install the OS again. Alot of people forget to remove the old partition which sometimes helps clear up alot of this types of issues later on...
