XP Freeze

Hi,

I recently installed WinXP on my new hard drive, and all seemed to be running well. Now, only after about 3-4 weeks, its starting to hang quite a lot, and when I check in task manager, the cpu usage stays at 100%, whilst it is frozen.

Now Im getting a message popping up saying corrupt run32.dll error or something. It says run checkdisk. So i ran checkdisk from the run box, and it verified some files had a problem. It also said that it would not sort out the problem because i didnt attach /F (Fix) onto it. So i tried that, and it didnt accept the command.
Now, im wondering is the problem due to this or something else?
What do you guys think it is?
Should I just stick the XPcd in and see id repair installation will sort it out? My brother and younger sister use this PC, so they may have deleted some file or soemthing.

Rgds

That's one of the best options, but I'd rather GO to safe mode and RESTORE it from a known good configuration and if still it wont be fixed ENTER SAFE MODE and RESTORE IT from previous date before those problems came. HTH.
