Password problems

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the Windows password window? It always pops up at bootup and right after putting my password in the dial up conection window. I went to control panel - settings but I only get a password properties box. My OS is Win 98se

I can't save my password in the dail up connections box. The area where you check save password is grayed out. I can't figure out how to set it properly. Also, after I type in my password to connect it is taking way too long. After about two minutes another Windows password box appears. When I cancel it the internet connection continues.

Any help is appreciated...

Frustrated and confused

Send a message via AIM to wschino
I have Windows ME and all I did was put in my username and then hit "enter" without a password. Try it...it might work.(Windows password window)

Download Tweakui and install. It will fix your problem.

Open Networking Properties, and change the logon to "Windows Logon" instead of MS Family Logon.

Smile Problem solved

I finally lucked up and found what I needed to do. What I didn't know was I had to enter my password in the Windows password window before I could change the password in the password properties window. I entered my current password in the (change password box?) then left the new password fields empty. Also, I changed the logon to Windows logon. Now the dreaded box doesn't come up any more!

Thanks
