Question Win2000 slow in shutting down.

Is it normal for the "Savings settings" message to last more than 30 secs before the PC power-off when shutting down ?
During this 30secs to 40secs, there is no disk activity at all. Just waiting. Running Win2000

The reason I ask is that another PC also on win2000 does not have this waiting period. It shuts down very fast.

It could be a difference of what all services , processes, and applications are running at the time of shutdown. That could be why there is a big difference that your noticing in the two PC's. Cntrl-Alt-Del and then click task manager to see what all is running on that PC.
