windows xp system sounds
Hello all. When I built this new pc about a month ago I turned off the windows XP system "startup" and "shutdown" sound. I want to turn them back on and can't seem to get the sounds to come back on. I have an ASUS P4PE-L mainboard.
please advise, thanks, God Bless, Robert |

Hi there,
Start. Control Panel. Change to "Classic view". Click on Audio and Sound Devices. Click on the Sounds tab. There you should see a list, click on the downside arrow and select Windows Default. OK. OK. HTH

Thanks,...I tried that and it doesn't seem to work. Would there be some place where I may have deleted or changed the "windows default" sounds?
please advise, God Bless, Robert |

You might check to see if your "Mute" is on.

Go back into the sounds bit, and hit the Browse button, select the sound you want, or simply change the sound scheme to something more pleasant than the defaults.
