Hi,
I have XP. Ever since installing it and upgrading Nero to run on it, I have not got InCd to work. It installs but has an explanation point over the icon in the task bar, and does nothing. I have been trying things Ahead Nero has suggested, so far nothing has worked. This is a suggestion they made Quote:
TIA

babylon, I have recently uninstalled InCD from my computer because the icon annoyed me (thats the only way to get the icon gone). I didn't have any problems with it running though along with WinMP. I also have XP btw. Anyway, Im just saying that you shouldn't monkey with the Adaptec driver thing because it probably isn't the cause in the first place. Maybe try reinstalling the NEWEST drivers for Nero.

Thanks sleepypost, I have the lastest Nero software, that darn InCd will not work. What do you use for packet writing now?

Since the Adaptec driver is also packet writing software and you can't have two packet writing programs loaded at the same time I am guessing it is good advice.
You can unload InCD by using Ctrl ALt Delete. You can stop it from running automatically from MsConfig. |

Thanks Tuf, I'll guess I'll try it. Do you recall if when WMP is installing it gives you that option?

The WMP that comes in XP doesn't have the Adaptec driver. The WMP update (version 9 I think) does, so you have to uninstall 9, install InCD, then reinstall 9 without the Adaptec driver.

Thanks reboot, I have updated WMP to the latest version. So WMP does give you that option and it does uninstall OK?

XP uses the Adaptec driver for its own CD writing capabilities with or with out WMP. You need to disable CD writing from windows. You can do it from My Computer by right clicking the drive.

It means that if the computer's hard drive shuts down or it goes into standby you just made a coaster. InCD and power management do not get along.
