Scan Disk

How come Scan Disk or should I say Check Disk does not run at boot up if a bad shutdown or a bad reboot occurs? I am running Windows 2000 Professional. I don't have it enabled in task scheduler, I didn't have it enabled in Windows 98SE and after a bad shutdown/reboot, Scan disk would come into action.

Thanks guys!

I have WinXP and that doesn't happen with me either. I'll bet Microsoft learned that the majority of the people didn't like scandisk because it kicked in when people merely didn't shut down their PC correctly. I know I hate scandisk. There was only ONE time I actually wished I had it. Every other time I wanted to just bypass it (by hitting x).

Cool

You have your drive where the OS is set to NTFS. Another good reason to use NTFS. Your WIN98 ran FAT32.
