Question Upgrading to Win2k

Is it posible to install Windows 2000 over W98 using the Upgrade version of 2000?

Or does it only work if you have Win NT4?

TIA

I know you can do it with XP (I've done it). I would think it's probably the same for 2k.

Yes but I wouldn't advise it as there are just too many differences between the 9x family and the NT family.

What you can do is to format and install 2000 clean and simply provide your 98 disk when asked for. Make a backup first.

Actually, an in-place upgrade from 98 to 2K generally goes very well. DO read the preliminary upgrade report so you know what drivers you have to chase and what programs need to be uninstalled and reinstalled.

Send a message via ICQ to Pimpmaster
I've upgraded to Win2k over 98 and only had problems with drivers.
