xp reg code
ok...Ive got a pretty serious prob with xp...I want to wipe my HD and do a clean boot of XP, just to clear out all the spam and unnecessary reg entries from shareware. the problem is that the morons that put the comp together didnt sticker the win xp registration code tol the back of my cpu. I need to know where in the registry I can find this info. thanks for the help.

Qwert,
There are utilities on the internet that will wipe out Viruses, Trojans, and Spyware, and unncessary registry entries without having to reformat the hard drive. If you want something to remove the spyware, go onto http://www.google.com and search for Spybot Search and Destroy A great utility that is small in size, and pretty easy to use, is a utility by Microsoft called "Regclean" which scans the registry, and removes any unnecessary lines. Go back to Http://www.google.com once you download Spybot Search and Destroy and look for Regclean. Http://www.downloads.com has it. You will know it is Regclean, as it is made by Microsoft(scary). |

I have a zip file that gives key number but is too large to attach here. I got it from a link on this forum. You might try doing a search for keyfinder for past year.

Download this (9k) file, and run it.
It will tell you exactly what your CD Key is in any version of XP. http://www.svrops.com/svrops/downloa.../viewkeyxp.zip |

I'd contact the morons and demand the key code - along with a certificate of authenticity - if they refuse, they are hiding something.

Confused, isn't a zip file that gives random numbers illegal?

If they can't produce a Certificate, they may have used a pirated copy to get a higher profit margin on the sale of the PC. |
