Question help please

I just started my first build and put the xp cd in the rom drive to boot up. It came to an agrrement and i kept pressing the i agree key, but it wouldn't work so i pressed the i don't agree key and my screen went black with a little flashing _. How can i get ack to the other screen or is there something else i can do?

Try deleting and creating the primary partition again. Also, are you positive the installation CD you have is authentic and not pirated?

Try downloading a Win9x boot disk from www.bootdisk.com Then run fdisk and remove the partitions that have been created. Then try booting with your XP CD.

Try another keyboard.

Try it with 1 stick of RAM installed.

Post your system specs.

Since it`s a new build, recheck all of your mobo settings. Make sure the drive jumpers are configured properly. (stand alone, single, etc) and the master drive is on the primary IDE channel.

Re check everything.
