Restore File WinME

Hello All

I have enjoyed reading this forum for somr time now and decided to jump in.

Question: Can and how do I remove or empty the Restore file on WinME. It is using a ton of disc space on my my little 4Gb HDD. Any help would be great. Thanks!!

Right click on "My Computer", go to the far right side tab (I think it's the "TroubleShooting" tab), and at the bottom of the "TroubleShooting" list, choose "Disable System Restore". At reboot, the space should be returned for your use. (Probably a good time to Defrag). You can turn System Restore back on by going back to that same spot & un-checking the box.

I don't have a WinMe system here at the lab, so I'm not sure which place it is, but check around: I think it's in the same general area (some where in My Computer Properties) that you can tell System Restore how much room it can have. [There's a slider bar with Minimum on one side and Maximum on the other - it usually provides an estimate for how much space] . . . the more room you give System Restore, the more restore points it saves.

If Hal sees this, he'll give better details, since he's more familiar with WinMe.

Glad to hear you here "out loud"
The swimming's fine.

Looked around, found it, worked like a charm.
