Why does it keep on telling me "total space available in disk: 10 GB" ????!!!!!
This is an 80GB drive!!! What must I do so FDISK can properly recognize it!?

Two reasons you get this error.
A BIOS that doesn't recognize the drive, or an old version of fdisk. Don't bother with it's reported size, just fdisk it, and use percentages for your partitions. It will all turn out right. Like, if you wanted partitions, 20, 20, and 40, just set the first one to 25%, the remainder as logical, then specify 33% for the first logical and leave the remainder. You should end up with a 20gig primary, 20 gig (roughly) secondary, and 40 gig left. |

Thanks a lot, reboot and Cricket. Browsing bootdisk.com I found the "new" version of FDISK. Downloaded it and had the HD running in no time. (Well, it took about 30 min since 80GB take a lot to format
).
