greedo Problem with installing 2000 Pro

I have partitioned and reformatted this drive more than once. It is formatted for Fat32 on a IBM 30GB deskstar drive that resides in a Gateway machine. The machine is able to recognize the 2000 Pro CD on boot up and initializes the setup and copies files for setup. However, when it is done copying the setup files it then reboots and comes up with a load error on reboot and is unable to complete the setup. If I boot from the CD again it just goes through the same cycle without completing the setup. Any ideas on why the load error comes up?

I've also run a hardrive diagnostic and found the drive to be in good health.

I resolved the problem after low level formatting the hard drive with a diagnostic from Gateway's support site. They use a Western Digital diagnostic for their computers even though the hard drive is an IBM
