internet connection problems
my friend owns a sony viao notebook running on windows me. he recently had spyware problems. He had this problem after a pop up website of "sqwire" came when using the internet. The first problem he got was he can't run explorer. We tried to delete all the components of sqwire. at first we had a hard time deleting all its components but we finally deleted all its components, including components at startup and were able to run explorer now. We download and run ad-aware. the problem he has now is that it seems he cant connect to the internet. he keeps getting cannot find server error, or the page cannot be displayed. we check on the network setting and all the components. everything seems ok. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Adware STILL seems to have trouble removing any spyware the embeds itelf in Winsock.
The previous version couldn't do it, the initial release of this version had trouble, and obviously it still has trouble. I would recommend the use of SpyBot in all cases and uninstall AdAware. http://security.kolla.de/ You connectivity problems should be fixed using this fix http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm |

FYI, the latest update to Spybot does include "Sqwire", all previous versions did not.
What a malicious POS that sqwire is!
