Win. XP Home or Pro?

I am definately going to buy Windows XP, but do I get XP Home or Professional? Is there an advantage of getting Pro if all I do is play games/music/dvd? Thanks for the input!!

Nope. No real advantage. Only bragging rights.

Home is the way to go, unless you need to connect to a domain or are using a multi-CPU system.

the biggest draw back to xp home is in security. you cant set up granular security with xp home. you are either an administrator with full priviledges or a guest with no priviledges. if you have multiple users it maybe an issue.

Go with Home unless you need to log into a domain, you have multiple CPUs, or you need the more robust security that Pro has. If all you do is play games and DVDs, then there is no need for Pro.

what would bug me if i didn't have Pro would be when i watch the tour XP (yes, i watch it) it would make me depressed not to be able to select the Business Tab (only relevant for pro).
