resizing windows
This should be an easy one. How do you get your windows to open full size? Mine open half size and I'm tired of maximizing them. I just switched from a 13" monitor to a 20" one. I tried dragging them full and tried shift-max but Windows 98 is not remembering this. Thanks

Right click on the program icon and choose Properties. Click on the Shortcut tab and then look for the Run: box and change the option to Maximized and click Okay.

Thank you. What and where is the program icon? It doesn't seem the be the e in the top left corner nor the flag in the top right.

The "program icon" is whatever you click on to open the program.
If it's in the Start Menu or quicklaunch, wherever, right click on it, and change the option to maximized. |

I don't have any of those. It's either a shortcut, in my favorites list, or any link.

This should fix your problem. Let's use Internet Explorer as an example. Maximize the window, now after that is done click file exit NOT THE X file exit. That should remember that last size setting and fix your problem.

OK, a "program icon" IS a shortcut or favourite.
The "icon" is the picture that represents the program, the "E" for Internet Explorer etc. |

Exactly which icon are you clicking on? The one on the desktop or somewhere else?
Is the program already executed? Cricket

resizing the window can be done with just placeing the cursor on the very edgs of the window and dragging it to the size you want, top and side, then when you close that window, the system will remember that setting and the next time you open it it will still be that size.
is this what you ment or am I off on the wrong track |
