Win 98 Problem
I've got a Compaq 5340 that I was having some problems getting to start up now. It was missing all king of file so I reinstalled Windows and now it won't boot to windows...it only says that "lmouse.drv" and "lmouse.vxd" are missing and then it cuts off.
Does anyone have any ideas? Jeremy |

How did you reinstall? Did you use the recovery CDs?

Does the PC actually have a Logitech mouse?
Hold down the Shift key after POST and Windows should boot into Safe Mode. Then go into Device Manager and delete all instances of Mouse. Reboot and see if the mouse is properly detected. If the problem persists, then in Safe Mode>Device Manager>Mouse>Update driver change the mouse to standard two button, three buttom, wheel mouse (or whatever type of mouse you have). If you do have a logitech mouse, you could also search for a driver at the Compaq Web Site. HTH |
