Hardware upgrade problem with XP

I've just upgraded my comp with a new motherboard, memory and cpu. I was running dual O/S with Win XP Home and Win XP Pro whcih worked great. I want to keep the same drives without formatting.

After the adding the new hardware, I went through the Bios procedure then tried started the O/S where it gave me the choice (as normal) but then came up with a blue screen saying 'A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down etc... Check for viruses, remove any newly installed hard drives or controllers. Check your hdd and make sure it is properly configured and terminated etc...'

I'm upgrading to an Asus A7V8X m/b, 1024mb DDR 400 memory and an AMD 2400+ CPU

I'm in desperate need to get this sorted ASAP so would appreciate any ideas

thanks

Change boot sequence to CD-ROM first.
Put in the XP disk for the OS that's on C (home or pro?)
Restart, select new install, hit F8 to agree to the TOS, and select which OS you want to repair, then hit "R".
