Question NVIDIA vs. Microsoft drivers

how come my NVIDIA drivers for my graphics card don't work(sort of).Only the driver Microsoft supplies will play my games without a hang. First i thought it was because some NVIDIA drivers are not WHQL certified(like 43.45). but then 40.27(which is certified) does not work also. Ok...it works but the Microsoft Driver is CRAP!..desktop screen lags when game finishes or other stuff.

yup!....with the Microsost driver....my desktop lags after a game is shut down...doesnot happen with the other NVIDIA drivers but those drivers hang the game.

Try the 3082 and the 2311. The gf4mx class card is a glorified tnt2, and may be fastest with 2xxx series driver. WHQL testing is done on a dual cpu system (usualy harder to write reliable drivers for, and nvid cards are not favored by many dual cpu users, me included) to make sure there's no flakiness, they may be slower but much more reliable. Then I would suspect the via chipset in the mobo, if the comp in your sig is the one discussed.

ok.....the 30.82 driver works fine...no glitches now(are a bit laggy but then becomes fine). but is there a way to install the latest NVIDIA drivers which should give me a boost in performance without scrtewing up my games again?
NVIDIA does not offer customer support which SUCKS!
