Boom Instal problem

I assembled a new computer. I then put the Windows Me CD in & it asked me if I wanted to intall Me & I said yes & it said the first step is for it to reboot. It powered down & rebooted and the POST gave one beep (which means all is well) but after that all I get is "Press a key to reboot" (an all-black screen except for the message). I press a key & it reboots & brings me to the "Press a key to reboot" screen again & again, no matter how many times I press a key.

I have (what I think is) the Me start-up or system floppy disk in the computer as well as the CD. I even tried taking them both out & starting the computer up but it still just gives me "Press a key to reboot". I have turned the computer off & left it for an hour and then tried it again but I get the same problem & there is no way out of it & no way into DOS even since any key I press just reboots the computer. I can still get into BIOS during POST though.

Does anybody know what the problem may be??? How can I get out of this?

Try removing the floppy disk, leaving the cd-rom in the cd-drive, and reboot.

[ . . . and did you create a primary DOS partition on your hard drive?]

Yea I think what it wants is now to boot from the CD, so you need to get that floppy out of there, other option is just to force cd boot via the BIOS...

OK you guys were pretty close. I had to change the BIOS setting so that it boots to CD first, before floppy & hard drive. Problem solved! Thanks
