Norton Internet Security

Hi Guys,

I have a bit of a puzzler,

We have just built a new set-up (see post on HW forum), we have a clean install of Win2K pro on NTFS.

Installing the above software trashes the Win installation, we can boot into safe mode but cannot remove the S/W. W2K fails to repair itself either auto or from the recovery console.

The only option we have is to reformat and reinstall everything, (but this time we'll leave out Norton).

As the guy paid a fair wedge for this software, we are wondering if you guys had any ideas.

TIA

Steve

we do not recommend installing that software for that reason.
it has too many problems

xp has all the security you need built into it

Thanks for you answer, but 2 things

1. He is using Win2K not XP
2. When did they add anti-virus to XP? 'cause I didn't know it had anti-virus built in.

your first post did not state it was norton anti virus,

I don't think that norton av has any problems with w2k at all, I don't use any thing but I have not seen anyone else talk about any problems with it

Sorry I should have explained that NIS also contains NAV, as part of the package.

Anbody else got any ideas why this trashes a clean install of Win 2K?

do not install anything else, just the av part
only install the anti virus, do not install any of the other stuff in the package and it should work
