Sorry to bother you fellas again, but I have a bit of a dilema. I have a nvidia gforce 4 vid card.(my stock vid is built into my motherboard, my pc is a dell.) After having to re-install all my hardware/software on my pc, I was unable to get my vid card to work. Here's what happens when I turn on my pc with the new vid card installed:
If I have the monitor pluged into the new vid card, the power light blinks from green to orange. If I plug the monitor into the old vid card, my picture will show, only after xp is up and running. In other words it by passes my bios and all. I cant get anything to show on my gforce at all. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions, I am all ears. |

Let me get this straight, you say you have onboard video, correct?
If that's the case, then it needs to be disabled before it picks up the video card.

As force_flow says, you have to disable your onboard video before you can move on. This is when the motherboard manual is important. That is where you will find out how to disable it, either through dip switches on the motherboard, or just through the System BIOS itself. If you lost the manual, maybe there is a copy on the Internet.
