Having problems deleting MS Word Docs on a share which a user has full control on.
" File is in use by another program, please close any application using this file before trying again" If you delete all the text in the document and save it, you can then delete the file. System is XP Professional and office 97 SP2. this problem does not occur in excel or any other MS Office apps. Can anyone help! |

From where are you trying to delete the file? When other people have had that problem where I work, it was because they were trying to delete the file from within Word. The quick display function that show the contents of the file before you open it locks the file, so you can't delete it.
Have you tried deleting from the command line? |
