Should I up date or not ?

I bought a new Dell pc about six month's ago, and every day when I turn it on I get this POP UP from Micro Soft. It say's UP DATES are ready, should I be up dating ? Some people I'v talk to say no and other's say I should be. What's your advice on this matter.

Updates fix a lot of security holes in M$ software. I'd recommend updating.

OTH, if you wanna get rid of the pop-ups, hit the Win Key and the Break key. The System Properties come up, click on the Automatic Updates tab and uncheck the first check box.
