How to record an mp3 file in WIndows?

I was brought up by ZX Spectrum games and recently found an emulator and tons of games that I can play over and over again. However, the emulator doesn't let me to record sound.
Some of these games has amazing soundtracks, so how could I record it into an mp3 to give to my friends?

Search in the games folder, I'm certain that these files are probably wav's and they are some where in the games or emulator folder.

No, that's for certain there isn't one. This emulator works from .ztx files and .tap files. I can't extract audio from them because they're originally written in Basic.

I don't if this is any help but this zx emulator has the option to save audio to a wav file, which you could then convert to mp3 fairly easily:

SB sound cards come with a piece of software that will record any sounds being played on your computer.

force_flow's right. Windows comes with a sound recorder applet as well. The file will be recorded as a WAV file and you can convert it to MP3 if you want to. There are lots of conversion programs - MusicMatch works well for me (click File, then File Convert).
