ABIT BH6 Motherboard Pentium II 450 mhz 256 Megabytes ram 6 gig C: HD 30 gig d: HD Teac CDRW DVD Drive Geforce 4 MX440 64 meg (AGP) Soundblaster 4.1 digital sound card (PCI) 4 USB ports (PCI) Pinnacle pctv tuner card (PCI) Modem (PCI) Network Card (PCI) Hi all! I am having a problem with Windows explorer. It insist`s on opening with the Folder options down the left hand side, and opening seperate screens when you click on a drive. All changes disappear when the window is closed then reopened. I have checked for viri and corrupted files, nothing new is running. Thanks for all your help.

See if it helps to hold the shift key down when you close AFTER you make the changes. Have that be the only window that is open too.

I have a bit of a red face, I had checked the wrong setting in X-teq while I was trying to get my program list to open in a double column instead of a scrolly single column. Sorry to have wasted space and time on PC mechanic. Thanks for all your help. I`ll try have a proper problem next time !
