Win NT and USB
If I understand correctly, it seems that Win NT does not support USB. I just got an IBM Thinkpad laptop at work and it has NT 4.0 installed on it. Our companies desktop rep said USB won't work on it. Is this true? Is there a workaround, or some basic driver to install?
This Thinkpad doesn't have a PS2 port so I can't even attach a normal mouse. I'd like to use a USB scroll button mouse. thanks |

That is true BUT there is something out there that you can load which uses a Com port to enact as a USB port. How well it works I do not know.

Plugged the USB mouse in and it just works, all by itself.

Windows NT 4.0 does not really support USB devices, but if your PC systems has "USB Legacy Support" option in the BIOS, it will support the USB LEGACY DEVICES such as Mouse and Keyboard.
