spyware or spybot?

which one is better?, and which alerted files do I touch and which do I leave alone? Alot of the spy detected files are in red text and are linked to registry items. My right click menu on ie6 has a link that I cannot find in my system. It only appears when I right click on a page when I'm on-line. The link appears above properties and when I right click on it, it sends me to another home page. Can anyone help? Much appreciated.

The only spyware I was told to keep and put on ignore list is anything from CYDOOR. everything else just clean up.

I think you mean Ad-Aware or Spybot...spyware is what those two programs are designed to find and remove from your computer.

I use spybot and it is great. I heard from someplace that Adware doesn't update too frequently, althought I could be wrong.

Hi everybody!

I know that Spybot is a freeware. What about Ad-Aware and where do you dowload it?

Yes, the standard version of Ad-Aware is free...there is also a Plus and Professional version if you want to buy those. The site is:

Adaware is doing a better job of updating than it used to. I like Adaware but it is so much slower than Spybot I tend to run Spybot much more frequently.

There was a lull between Ad-Aware 5 and Ad-Aware 6 (the current version). Updates for Ad-Aware 6 are pretty regular now.
