fqpissed Update Q817287

I have downloaded the update but when I go to my
computer double click on C drive windows files it doesn't
show up. It doesn't show up in the update history on the
update page. Is this right?

In the root directory? What was the name of the file?

When I downloaded it the page asked where I wanted it . It offered a search and showed the drives so I chose C drive which is my hard drive.

If you remember the name of the file you can search for it. Start > Search

If you don't know the name then you can try downloading it again.

Boom

I have found the problem it seems. I did a search and found the file. Well it seems I have to have SP1 to use the update. They can forget that. I tried it when it first came out. It slowed my computer awful so I did a restore. I deleted the file. Thank you.

Yup. SP1 also slowed down my system.

I did a restore and then reinstalled the SP1a. The puter seems to be working fine now. No slowdowns.

I thought about doing it myself but I have no problems and have been downloading all the updates that have been put out until this one. I am concerned what will happen to all the updates that I have downloaded since. My system is up to date with the exception of SP1 . Why would I need it.
