boot problems..
So I got a WD harddrive today.. I got it from school, it was free but still seald in the static bag.. Well I pop it into my p3 600 machine and it just sits.. The hard drive is spinning and its set to master.. I went into bios and it sees that its there but wont boot into windows 2000 pro from the cd or the floppy.. and yes i put floppy as first boot device..
So I put in a 98 boot disk and it tells me that the hd does not have a fat system or a fat 32 set up. that i might be using 3erd party format software or its a virus.. Then it takes me to a: and I type format c: and it says format not supported on drive c. What do I do?? Thanks Ryan |

You need to partition it first, then format.
