win xp firewall good enough??

Should I have a second firewall running like McAfee or is the firewall included with xp good enough?? I have broadband internet and am always connected.

The WinXP firewall is not good. It only blocks incoming packets but not the outgoing ones.

You definitely need a true firewall. Sygate Personal is my fav. Stay away from McAfee products.

Pfft, I don't even bother to enable it. I like using Sygate and Norton Firewall.

I agree with Nuke, stay away from McAfee, Sygate is my favorite and alot of people like ZoneAlarm. The best part is they both have a free version.

The xp fwall is statefull packet inspection, no "free" fwall I know of is statefull. It is very stable, and "free" as it comes with the os.
I like it, and set it to drop everything, and log nothing, unless I am goaded into catching something networkwise. It is a set and forget deal. I Don't care if it is one-way though.

NK recommended Sygate to me a while back and i love it. the activity bar is great! i know its working also because it blocks so much stuff and tells me in the corner of the screen.
