Security Certificate problem

I was installing some new software onto my computer and it crashed half way through.

Now that I go to any sites that require SSL I get an error - it seems my security certificate is corrupt - how can I fix it?

I've already tried to install the latest version of IE (IE6 SP1), repaired IE, reverted to the last version of IE (IE4) and then upgraded again but nothing seems to work! I've even installed a new Class 3 Public Primary Certificate as suggested by my bank.

Help me out here!
