Do you wish to debug? - !!!! What is this?!!!

Every so often a dialog box appears with the message - Runtime Error - do you wish to debug?, often followed by different messages but the most recent said Line :44 Error 'document.stylesheets.big' is null or not an object.

I am running Win 98 SE, have a broadband cable modem attached to PC (never used to have problems prior to this being attached!?), have occasional problems with Internet as it says this program has performed an illegal operation, also faced with Blue screen of death occasionally as well, this doens't happen all the time as today I've only had a handful of debug messages and 1 performed an illeagal op message.

Any ideas or solutions would be gratefully appreciated

If you need any more info let me know

cheers

Does that message appears only in IE?

Take a look at this thread:

Nuke's link should help with the run-time errors, especially with IE. If you are getting these errors in other programs as well, along with illegal operation errors, there are some things you can try.

If it's only in one or two programs (other than IE) that you are getting the run-time errors (& if you have your installation disks handy), you can try uninstalling the programs, running RegClean, running a full antivirus/spyware/trojan scan, rebooting, and reinstalling the programs & see if that does it. Updating programs with more recent versions (or applying "Service Packs" for the software) can also help with runtime errors. Most of this holds true for illegal operations too, but for those there are also some other causes -

RegClean 4.1 was updated to work nicely with Win98. You can download it from http://download.com.com/3000-2094-881470.html

Best of luck
. . . Gary

[p.s. if the system has run fine with 512mb of memory for quite some time, then don't worry about it. There's a setting for "vcache" that can be used for systems with over 512mb in Win98 systems, if you want to explore that, too http://www.plasma-online.de/index.ht...n9x_512mb.html ]
