most of my downloads are corrupt, pls hlp

i don't know what going on but whenever i try and download demo games from www.pcgamer.com, and the download is finished, the file is always corrupt? i doubt it's the website, is something wrong with my system that's causing the corruption?

Does it happen only with that web site or with others too?

What kind of connection do you have?

make sure the file extension is correct. You may have selected the wrong extension... ie, (.html instead of .mpg).

i dunno, i never downloaded demo games from another website before. my connection is dsl through aol.

Try going to another site and downloading a demo. If it works, it's the site or the line between the site and you. If not, it's probably your connection.

I could say something about that AOL ISP, but I'll leave it for now.

yea i'm paying 50+ bucks a month for AOL DSL. i'm gonna switch once i get my apartment. i'm switching to verizon DSL. i would get cable, but i don't like the idea of sharing my connection with my local area.

Why your apprehension with cable?
Slowdowns? I've never experienced any.
Security? Firewall resolves that problem.
Price? In my area cable is cheaper than DSL.

You've been brainwashed by the phone co/DSL providers, just like all the other people paying too much for shoddy, slower than advertised, service.
If the price is the same, service is the same, and speed is the same, get cable, it's faster.
If the price, service, speed is NOT the same, get cable, it's faster, probably better service, and quite possibly cheaper.
Do some of your own research before completely dismissing something based on rumor.

well i know somebody that works at verizon DSL, so probably he brainwashed me
