I'm running several different operating systems XP & 98SE for the most part. Some time ago I installed and ran AdAware and Spybot spyware killer. Well one of them removed the related icon from the toolbar in IE. It was done and overwith before I had a chance to say no or back up the files. Is there anyway other than a total reload to recover that function? It was a small part of something called Alexa I think. I found it quite useful when I had it and now I miss it.
Thanks Gene |

If Spybot deleted it you may be able to use the recovery function to get back what you need. I think Ad-aware backs up the files by default also, so you may be able to use it to recover the function also. In either case, you will need to know what files to recover.

View/ Toolbars/Customize See if your Icon is still there. If so you can add it back.

It was not there, could not add it back until last night when I downloaded the IE6 service pack 1 and installed it. Then it showed back up again. Next time I run Adaware or spybot I'll comment that out so it doesn't happen again.
Thanks guys. |
