Hello Sleepypost,
Before you get into reformatting your hard drive or even installing XP over itself. We need to find out what is wrong with your system, because you maybe able to fix whatever is happening with your system without actually having to reformat the hard drive. So please post your problem, and any details you may have(ie Did the problem occur after a hardware change? Software change?) |

You can run repair with the XP CD. It will leave data and programs intact, however you will loose SP1 if loaded and any MS updates will have to be reinstalled. It will also require your 16 digit code and it will automatically register at end. I've done it twice. One with good results and second time it didn't improve what I was hoping it would fix.
Worth a try before you do a clean install which will result in loosing programs and data. Chas

thanks you guys.
My problem is that i tried to OC my Radeon 9500 Pro with a soft-mod. it worked (flashed a new OCable BIOS). Then i downloaded TWO third party OCing utilities. One of which was bunk. it added a tab in my display Advanced properties. This is where the problem starts. I booted into safemode and found that clicking that tab results in an error, "couldn't bridge to RadProbe 028". Im assuming thats some sort of driver, either a Radeon Driver or a RadLinker (the bunk modder) driver. So ill try system restore (that should leave my BIOS in tact) and ill have to re-install another third party software.... Ill try that. thanks.
