If you don't have the administrator password, you're screwed. You'll have to reinstall windows, and this time write down, or at least make a good effort to memorize your admin password. It comes in handy at times like this

edit: you might have a guest account available, but you won't be able to reenable your account from that.

rave, thanks a lot for trying to help me when i need it. I checked out you link and it seems to be a program for computers thats are on a network, i think i would need a bootable program off a floppy disk or cd. unfortunately i don't have a burner in my back up puter only in my locked up puter so if there was a program i would only be able to do it on a floppy.
thanks-----> around2it

Send a message via AIM to q2418130103p
There is an EXTREMELY large number of programs that fix this very problem.
There is actually a thread alomost exactly like this one on the forums, you should try and look it up, has my name and RenegadeKing in it.
Passware is the best for it. There are also some other programs made by Winternals (they make passware) that can do the trick via a netowrk connection or serial connection (much easier then it sounds).

If you have access to a win2k cd you can boot into the recovery console and delete the SAM file [located in windows/system32] If your hd is fat32 you can do this with a win9x boot disk. If those options do not work for you, try this link.

check out the winternals website. Theres a utility included in the Admin Pack that does what you need. It's expensive, but I think you can download a trial.
