Cool Windows XP BSOD

Does Windows XP/2000 actually still use the BSOD? The reason that I ask is that I’ve been using it for about a year and have not had one BSOD.

if there is any problem it will usally fix it its self or tell you about it.

I haven't seen a BSOD in years (on my PCs) either - and I'm using Win98.

XP still has BSOD. The only difference is that the default setup is to enable an Automatic Restart if Windows finds a Stop Error.
So if Windows finds an error it will automatically restart instead of showing you a BSOD.

This means, when troubleshooting you need to disable Automatic Restart, otherwise you can never see the BSOD and can end up with a vicious circle of restarting.

Start > Control Panel > Settings > System (in the Classic-style

Start menu, Control Panel is under Settings).

Click Advanced > System And Recovery > Settings.

In the System Failure section, clear the Automatically Restart

check box, then click OK.
