Windows xp instatllation on startup

everytime i start my computer i have two options windows xp and windows installation, how do i get rid of the windows xp installation option, cause i don't need it, i've already installed windows, and the most annoying thing is that its the default startup, so everytime i restart my computer it starts the installation, anyidea how to remove this?

Cheers guys

sounds like you tried to install it a second time after a first falure maybe.

the only thing I can think of it to reinstall it, it does remove all the temp files after the installation completes, I am not sure where it puts these files while installing

Go to Start > Run > and type in MSCONFIG
Go to the BOOT.ini tab.
Remove the line pertaining to the installation, and make the other one default.
When done, your boot.ini should look like this:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
