Service Pack One

so anybody known where i can download service pack one for xp from some place other than the microsoft website?

you can buy the cd from them, or you could also find somebody that has already downloaded it and have them make a copy of it to a cd for you.
you might also do a google search for it, there may be some other sites that have it for downloading.

What is wrong with the one from MS?

Also do you want SP-1 or SP-1a?

the ms one takes to long to install, it loses the connection with the server and sometimes seems to lock the computer the last time i tried to install it, it took like 3 hrs and it was just a pain so if i could find like it zipped with an installation program it would make life easier.

You should download the network version that way you can use a program to resume your download when you get disconnected....
