Office XP crashs when inserting a picture!

I use Office XP in Windows 2000 Professional. When I try to insert a picture in either

Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, the application crashes and attempts to recover the document.

How can I fix this? I have tried the following:
Office update - didn't work
Office repair (from 'Add/Remove Programs') - didn't work
Office reinstall (from 'Add/Remove Programs') - didn't work
Complete uninstall of Office and reinstall from CD - didn't work

However, when I log in as 'Administrator', and I try to insert a picture in an Office

application, it works fine! I have full administrative rights for my log in.

Can anyone please suggest what I can do?????
