Help with RE-Format

Hi

Im reformatting the HD after some problems and ive heard its possible to make 2 partitions one with XP and one with all the files and saved stuff etc etc

is this right or possible??
Secondly how should i go about doing this if someone can explain how its done that would be great.

I like having two partitions now that ive done it. It keeps better oraganization and leaves room for a new OS if i want.
