I dont see why it would be a problem. Do you plan on using two separate HDDs or one partitioned?

Thanks
Thanks for the response,
I would only be using one harddrive. I was thinking that it would sense that i have another operating system and partition it for me. kind of like XP does. or i'm i far off? Thanks again. |

Both xp and win2k setup will partition your drive, however there must be unallocated space ie not used by the current partition. If you want to add partitions without destroying the current partition, then you need a third party program such as Partition Magic.
If you want to start over, you can use fdsik to create one partition one your disk; now you can use win2k setup to create its partition in unallocated space. If you want to “see” the win2k partition from win9x, then all partitions should be fat32. With dual boots I like three partitions; one for each os and the third for programs, data, etc. You will have to install each program twice [to get registry entries] you can just install them to the same folder. As an example you will install office twice [once from each os] however you will just have one folder such as E:\MSOffice. |

there is no reason to do that, xp is based on the nt kernal and is much better than w2000, also has more drivers built in than 2000 does
