Is it okay to run NT with FAT file system
Is it okay to run Windows NT on FAT file system. I am trying to load nt on some computers that had win95 before. SOme are working fine when I switch to NTFS however - I now am repeatedly getting and internal error phase .....
It doesn't do that when I switch back to FAT. Is that okay |

Yes, it's fine. It's actually preferred by
some IT Pros to have the OS on a fat partition and data on an NTFS partition

thanks - still having one stubborn system - getting the fatal error: internal setup data structures are corrupted (phase 0)
Any clue where to go from here. |

I did that - will try again - is there a certain size that the partition should be - this is a large hard drive - 8032mb - the max it would let me do was 2048 so I did that. Will try again
I am an amateur at this - am learning everything as I go along. What really is the difference between NTFS and FAT |

I did not think that Windows NT ran on fat32. Only NTFS. Windows 2000 can but not NT. Maybe I am wrong. It has been along time since I installed NT.

NT will run on FAT16, which is limited to a 2047mb partition.
