vsutil.dll

hello
i had zone alarm installed , i then had some problems with outlook express,so i did a scanreg restore back to a time when i didnt have zone alarm.mistake no.1, ithen removed all entries for zone alarm and now when i do a reinstall ahn error comes up and says windows c:/temp/vsutil.dll (something like that)is there stuff left over i didnt get .i did clear out registry two folders that had zone alarm before the reinstall ,im using 98 se.

you say you cleared out your registry and did a restoration of it, did you first uninstall zone alarm? this program is very finicky about how you uninstall it. I suggest you go to their website and follow their directions to a "t"....then post back and let us know how you made out.

If you have OE problems in the future , use the repair feature .

Have you been to c:/temp & tried removing the dll ?

Then reinstall Zone Alarm .

i have done everything i can think of,went through the web site with removal instructions,it wont allow me to download it says validation failed for c:\windows\temp\vsutil.dll.i googled it and there was one site that claimed doing a scanreg\fix would cure it but it didnt

there is a contact link on the zonelabs page, maybe they can give you some ideas. I had a similar problem when I found the program too invasive and tried to uninstall it. When I wrote to them they gave me directions to solve the botched uninstall....

...don't blame ya....just be sure to remove all traces of it and even that .dll file to assure smooth sailing.....
